Sunday May 6th saw the 5th Annual referees and partners dinner held once again in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel. Forty people attended and a great night was had by all. The usual short quiz to find the brainiest couple was this year won by Mr and Mrs David Keane who scored a high nine out of ten. He was pushed close by Ciaran O’Brien, Eanna O’Dowd and Alfie Acheson with their partners no doubt answering most of the questions. That these four were all seated at the same table did cause a few eyebrows to be raised.
It was great to see our recent president Ciaran O’Brien and his wife Tina attend. A small presentation was made to him on behalf of all referees and as the night was designed to reward our partners, some flowers were presented to Tina as well.
Thanks go to all those that attended and made the night a success. Special thanks to James Fegan, Ciaran O’Brien and Eanna O’Dowd who contributed and also to those clubs who responded and donated something towards the night as a thank you to all those referees who gave up their time during the year. The clubs that donated this year were Ashbourne, Navan, New Ross and Terenure.
